If someone opens up to you about their mental health, it is important to take a step back and not give your opinion.
What do I mean?
Well, it is much more fruitful to offer your time and listen to the person or check up on them rather than giving your opinion on the matter (which might be inaccurate and unhelpful). Be their friend and offer them food, rest and understanding. Remind them that they will be ok. These little things are what will help them feel stronger and loved – no matter what their mental health is.
